Every day, innocent animals are unfortunately subjected to acts of cruelty. It is heartbreaking to witness such news. The question that often comes to mind is, how can anyone be so callous?
When a photo of a deserted grown-up canine and her pups went viral on the web, a nearby animal sanctuary offered its help. The incident took place on April 26 in Abilene, Texas where a 5-year-old boxer mix named Dory along with her nine 2-week-old puppies were abandoned in a church parking lot. Fortunately, Paw Angel Animal Rescue, which is based in Abilene, rescued all of them.
The helpless pups were abandoned in the parking lot of an Abilene church, with no place to go as all the rescue centers were already at full capacity. The distressing image of the abandoned dogs was shared on Facebook, prompting the shelter to quickly post a plea for a foster home. Fortunately, there is hope on the horizon as two volunteers from Paw Angel are en route to help. Misty Boerger, one of the volunteers, saw the photo and was moved to action, calling on the assistance of the organization to rescue the abandoned animals.
“I can’t comprehend why someone would abandon a mother and her two-week-old puppies,” she expressed.
Angel Urban, who teamed up with Boerger to save the dogs, shared that Dory was injured when they found her. “We observed several sores on her body that were open and draining,” Urban included.
Dory had a tough time dealing with her injuries, especially after losing one of her puppies, Peach, due to a throat tumor. Nonetheless, Paw Angel Animal Rescue has confirmed that Dory and her remaining eight pups are in good health and all set for adoption into new loving homes.
The organization recently shared an adorable snapshot of three puppies cuddling up to each other, along with the announcement that a new kennel had been provided for them to relax in.
According to the piece, a litter of eight adorable puppies will be starting their lives in a cozy 10-foot by 10-foot kennel. Although they will outgrow this space in a few weeks, the article reassures readers that the puppies are currently Snug and Safe from the direct heat and are well-adored. The article’s origin is unclear, but it is suspected that it was written in response to the discovery of a homeless dog and her nine two-week-old puppies who were abandoned in a parking lot. In contrast, the other related articles recount heartwarming tales about rescued animals overcoming adversity and finding happiness and love.
