The Nepal yellow-backed sunbird, also known as the green-tailed sunbird (Aethopyga nipalensis), belongs to the Nectariniidae family of birds. This species can be found in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, extending further east into certain parts of Southeast Asia. Its typical habitats include temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. In southeast Szechwan and Yunnan, it thrives in open mountain woods that have trees covered in moss, at elevations ranging from 1825 to 3350 meters.
